S & W Kitchens

Dear Brian, Tim, Jim, and All Who Helped,

This letter has been a long time coming, not because I didn’t deem it important, but because I DID feel it was important. I want to acknowledge the incredible work you all did for us in the kitchen remodel in the fall.

There are no words to describe how perfectly it went. How beautiful AND functional it is. How much we sit and stare and realize that it feels like the way our house should have been, a seamless change to something greater.

Brian, your plans are terrific, the cabinets a dream in performance, fit, design, and function. You steered us to people with skills that made it seem easy (to us). You were dealing with me (who has no vision, just a ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ reaction, sometimes delayed). You patiently walked me through HUGE changes, like an undermount sink, cabinets with some flair, etc.

Tim, you had the most time with us. You became like a family member, but of the most considerate nature. You told us from the beginning just how things would happen, and you followed through. We have never felt like we were in such good hands during a project until now. You keep a level of professionalism, pride in your work that is palpable, and you deliver. We have never had a worksite so clean, so well-organized, so skillfully executed. When you told us something would happen, it did—or you told us what to expect if there was any (slight)delay.

To have the residents living in the home while you are working must be challenging. But you were so easy. The hours were 8-5, phone calls were made to alert us to comings and goings. There was such an air of respect among your workers and subs. It was a mutual thing between you and them, and we have never seen such a high level of professionalism and friendliness, ever. You treated our family like longtime friends.

Tim treated our house as if it were his own. His crew did the same. He kept his sense of humor, his quality, his hands-on, eyes-on way with the job from start to finish. Tim’s crew deserves a lot of credit too, and we really felt like they were trustworthy and highly competent.

I also want to acknowledge Jim for his engineering of the project, and the fun meetings, with all the details so perfectly there in front of us. He knows his stuff! A very nice man and an asset to your company too.

My husband and I recently had our kitchen redone by S & W.  Elise Conner was our designer.  She did an amazing job combining the elements I wanted with ideas of her own to transform our very dated kitchen into an absolutely gorgeous one.  

Elise came up with ideas I never would have thought of, such as paneling the exterior of the bar to match our cabinets, which gives the bar such beauty and elegance.  Her choices of countertop material and color, cabinet hardware, and backsplash design were perfect!!  In fact, the backsplash is the focal point of the kitchen.  It is truly a work of art.  

Even though it’s been a few months since the project was completed, I still find myself standing in the kitchen, examining all the new elements and feeling really happy about the result.  At night with the new under-cabinet lights and hanging globes dimmed, the room is so lovely and feels so comforting.  I’m so pleased that I happened to meet Elise the day I walked into S & W to interview for the project.  She has great vision and talent. 

As for the project itself, Joe and Geoff did a great job managing it.  All work was done in a professional manner and on time.  Communication was great and the crews were very nice, helpful, and of course, skilled.  I have already recommended your company to others, and we will be using Elise’s services next year (probably) when we re-do our master bathroom.  GOOD JOB  S & W!!!!

Dear Elise,

Thank you for the cookies, they were very delicious, and we had a nice vacation. Of course you could use us as a referral. We love our new kitchen and all of the help you provided us. You were able to help us piece together the different items and colors so that they would come together in the style that we like.

When people come over and visit, they remark what a wonderful look the kitchen is and that they really like the open and warm feeling it presents.  I think the quality of the craftsmanship really stands out and we like the tile work and counter tops the most, which is probably because it is the main items that stand out.

The subcontractors who performed the work were very courteous, professional and experienced. We never felt uncomfortable or that they were not concerned with any issues we brought up and the items needing to be addressed were dealt with in a timely manner, generally within 1-2 days. Seth was easy to work with and he provided ideas to consider when decisions needed to be made.

We were recommended by friends to use S & W Kitchens because they had a good experience and were happy with the work done at their place. Now you have another customer who will pass the compliments along as well. For the investment and options that are involved with remodeling and creating a new itchen, your experience and creativity helped us create our vision into a reality. You worked with us to stay within our budget which can be challenging when there are many options. Thank you again for all of your creativity, attention to detail and support, it was a pleasure working with you.
