Great New Color Trends for 2011

The latest Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) meeting was held at the Hangar Restaurant at Alfred Whitted Executive Airport in St.Petersburg, FL last week. There was an interesting presentation discussing upcoming color trends for 2011-2013.

Plan on seeing these color palettes over the next couple years:

  • Earthy Neutrals
  • Matte and High Gloss finishes
  • Bright white
  • Lots of versions of Greys
  • Orange/Coral
  • Deep greens
  • Lots of watery blues, deep blues, true blues (pure blues without a lot of green undertones)
  • Sea foam
  • Hint of Yellow

I have already seen many of these color groups make their way across fashion and into cabinet and countertop materials. I was shopping for clothes the other day, and amongst the sea of neutrals, greys, and jean colors were pops of oranges and corals.

Many cabinet lines have introduced new twists on greys, they are warmer, softer, less industrial, and earthier.

Countertops have had lots of new greys, browns, neutrals introduced as well. As well as bright, brilliant whites are huge amongst countertops manufacturers right now.

Blanco sinks made an appearance at the NKBA meeting to show off the two new Silgranit sink colors, Truffle (a soft warm taupe/grey) and Biscotti (a warm creamy neutral). Silgranit is a durable composite sink material.

Stop by S&W Kitchens and we can show some of these fantastic new colors of cabinets, countertops, and plumbing fixtures!
